Why lessons are so important:
Did you know that violin is one of the most un-natural instruments to play? Unlike the piano or cello, violinists have to contort their body in a very odd position in order to hold the instrument properly. This makes it MUCH harder to play without tension (how can you be relaxed when your muscles are tired of being in such an awkward position?) and to produce a lovely tone that doesn’t sound like a cat caught in a blender.
With regular lessons students have the chance to better understand the fundamental concepts of how to play the violin with ease and familiarity, saving countless hours of guess work and frustration. Consistent lessons also allow students to learn about proper note-reading and music theory, all while expanding their love and appreciation for music.
As a professional violinist with over 15 years experience teaching, performing, and auditioning, I have taught my students how to:
Develop and learn new techniques in fun ways that are unique to how they learn
Have balanced posture of the body including violin and bow hold
Practice effectively by themselves while having the right tools to figure things out
Confidently play their pieces and/or excerpts in auditions
Have fun playing music from different time periods and genres
Whether you are in Fort Worth, TX or beyond, I am currently offering lessons in-person and online through the Zoom virtual platform.

What to expect in lessons with me:
Clear communication.
I take great care to communicate clearly with my students and their parents. Whether it’s lesson scheduling, helping a student understand difficult concepts, or demonstrating how parents can help their children practice effectively; I make sure everyone understands their task in a way that is simple and direct.
What the student will learn:
Practice is the glue that holds everything together.
A lot of students feel overwhelmed by learning an instrument simply because they don’t know how to practice effectively on their own. I take the time to create lesson guides tailored to each student’s specific needs and abilities to help direct and motivate them in their practice time. In addition, I relate my teaching methods to the student in a way that makes sense for how they think and operate as a person. This enables my students to achieve a high level of creative thinking and individuality in their music, and most importantly, how to play the violin with ease and joy.
Lesson pricing includes:
